Jam Session Serving Suggestions: If you're recording on a computer, make sure you have lots of hard drive space (preferably a dedicated, non-system drive), lots of RAM, fast processor(s)/(cores), a stable operating system, (mostly) bug-free recording software, and a compatible hardware interface (USB or FireWire or fancy card[s] you have to install).
